Our Story
Black Dog Inn
Located on the outskirts of Dalton-in Furness in the Cumbrian countryside a former coaching inn, the Black Dog is still run as a traditional, local pub. The quarry tiled floors, rustic beams and log fires are cosy in the winter while our decked terrace is enjoyed on sunny days throughout the year.
With a wide range of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, there’s sure to be something for all tastes. We have a superb range of award-winning ales and draught beers, serving a great selection of wines, gins and whiskeys.

Dog Fest
It started out 6 years ago in the carpark of The Black Dog Inn on the outskirts of Dalton in Furness. Through the owners and patrons love of live music an event was created showcasing local music talent at the annual DOG FEST. Each year the event has become bigger and better with 1000+ attending last year’s extravaganza, out growing the pubs carpark, we’re taking it rural with this year’s site occupying the neighbouring field. Every Friday create a mouth watering burger the way you want it!! All our burgers are pressed from locally sourced 100% beef, served with twice cooked hand cut chips and a selection of tasty sauces on the side.
OUR REAL ALES
Below is a selection of some of the ales that can be found at the bar.
Loweswater Gold
A golden ale at 4.3% made with mainly lager malt and German hops producing a tropical fruit aroma and flavour. Winner of many awards including Champion Golden Ale of Britain 2011.
Esthwaite Bitter
A Golden Bitter at 3.8% with a distinctive flavour from the combination of five different
Malts and Floral Citrus Hop.
Citra
Light gold in colour, bursting with citrus and tropical hop flavours, sensationally refreshing.
Oracle
A crisp, sparkling sunflower gold ale with a striking hop profile. Dry and refreshing with a long citrus aromatic finish.
